lumalamig...

Heyya! Bukas, it's the end of the month for August which means Ber-Months nanaman! Napakabilis talaga ng panahon. As a pinoy christmas song say "paskong nagdaan tila ba kung kailan lang...". In Pinoy tradition, it's a start of the christmas spirit...ganun ka advanced! Sabi nga raw, ang Pilipinas na ang may pinakamahabang Christmas celebration...kasing tagal ng isang semester sa school haha, so i decided to post an early christmas comment.

It's just so exciting thinking about it...

- Dadalas ang Sale..midnight sale, year-end sale, pre-christmas sale...whatever they call it, it's still all-out money
- Dadami ang mga carollers: may choir, may orgs, at yung mga "shifters"...ung mga tipong in 2s or 3s lang per group, and a total of 5 groups ang kakanta on the same house, 10 mins interval per group para di halatang they're of the same team...haha it's a proven fact, walang kokontra.
- Babaha ng Christmas text messages, ringtones, polytones, realtones, MMS wallpaper, AT mga taong di ka natetext ng matagal na panahon.
- "Monito-Monita", exchange gifts, christmas raffles
- Fruitcake, Hamon, at Keso de Bola
- Christmas Specials in all TV Networks
- Misa De Gallo or simply Simbang Gabi..... na nagiging "Simbang tabi" sa ilan tsk tsk
- Charity works atbp.
- Christmas BONUS!...which will eventually mahihigop na ng mga naunang nabanggit, or baka nde pa makuha agad, or wala. Darn!

All these and more in celebrating Pinoy Christmas. Wll 4 months be enough? Hehe

A Robot of substance

Finally I came to watch PIXAR's newest creation. Meet WALL-E (aka Waste Allocation Load lifter Earth-class), a robot that has been made to clean up the earth. Working as a trash compactor for hundreds of years after the evacuation of mankind into space. After hundreds of years alone and doing what he has made for, then there came EVE (Evolution evaluator) and finally felt the joy of being with somebody and that's the adventure all started. I just loved this film for it's great characters and heartfelt message to all mankind.. about love and a wake up call for us to take care of the planet we all live in...that we have the power to change the way we want it, not by just relying on something else to do what we are born to do. Watch the movie and learn it for yourselves.

Taking responsibility for one's destiny

Heyya! I've first read about this poem way back in HS. Great message. This goes out to a good friend of mine, Imbektus :D

Invictus
by William Ernest Henley; 1849-1903

Out of the night that covers me,

Black as the Pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be

For my unconquerable soul.

In the fell clutch of circumstance

I have not winced nor cried aloud.
Under the bludgeonings of chance

My head is bloody, but unbowed.

Beyond this place of wrath and tears

Looms but the horror of the shade,
And yet the menace of the years

Finds, and shall find me, unafraid.

It matters not how strait the gate,

How charged with punishments the scroll,
I am the master of my fate;

I am the captain of my soul.
